Rev. Fr. Gheevarghese John is the founding Vicar of St. Luke’s Orthodox Mission Church. He is the son of Rev. Fr. K.K. John and the late Kochamma Amminikutty John. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business from Penn State University, he went on receive a Master of Divinity from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, and then a Master of Education from Eastern University.
Fr. John was elevated to the rank of Priest at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox, Philadelphia, PA, by His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in the presence of His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas.
Currently he is teaching Mathematics & Literacy (Special Education) in the School District of Philadelphia. Fr. John is also the founder of Way of the Cross Ministries (WOTCM), a ministry of Evangelism in the United States of America under the Metropolitan or the Northeast American Diocese and Co-Founder of Hadootho, a Youth Camp for Indian Orthodox youth in Philadelphia. He has traveled extensively, preaching and teaching the Word of God within the Orthodox Church and other Christian denominations. Fr. Gheevarghese is married to Kochamma Linju John and has two children Bethenny and Joseph.
